Today's Accomplishments, Monday, 10/15

John is project leader by day, server by night

We have enjoyed a full day of work in God's presence throughout New Orleans.  There have been some interesting stories, set backs and accomplishments, and we are grateful for the events of the day.  Here's a list of the things that we have accomplished today:

At Yolanda's:

  • made arrangements and preparation to install floors and hang 12 doors tomorrow
  • landscaping

At Cheryl's House:

  • replaced all shelving with reinforced closet braces and bolts
  • advised gentleman working on countertops and sinks
  • determined where water is coming into the house (partial gutters on roof) and determined plan of attack
  • Home Depot run for light fixtures, faucets, electrical parts
  • Tomorrow: we will hang a new front door, the other doors , and hopefully install plumbing and sink

At Royden & Lena's House:

  • Trimmed out windows
  • installed complete A/C system complete with ducts >> the system is fully operational
  • started laying tile floor in the kitchen
  • laid subfloors

At Church (First Presbyterian Church of New Orleans):

  • Dug out and laid new concrete pad for trash container storage
  • Shopped to feed our army
  • Prepared a sumptuous feast
  • Purchased supplies to fix men's room shower
  • Diagnosed and corrected wireless connectivity program; ordered new WAP to provide wireless connectivity for future mission teams
  • Resolved unreliable printer problems
  • Researched and documented diagram of going-forward network architecture

Operational Excitement

  • 27 foot truck broke down; arrangements made for repair and temporary replacement truck secured
  • Please pray for God's presence to be with our hosts, our homeowners, and our hosts as we go forth to continue our works tomorrow.
